Both had excellent color payoff and had smooth, even application.
At Rite Aid and Walgreens I saw the All Access Beauty Coloricon eyeshadow collection by Wet n Wild. It is a limited edition collection. I was very surprised to see this because it was released at least 6 weeks after the All Access Beauty bronzer and nail polish summer collections. I guess better late than never. They retail for $2.99 each at Rite Aid and $3.99 at Walgreens. Below is an orangey peach, brown and pink combo called 'Standing my Camp-Ground'. The colors were very soft and smooth to apply. They had good pigmentation. Below is a champagne, purple and periwinkle combo. This is the first one I bought. The colors were soft with smooth application. The last 2 Coloricon eyeshadows I bought were a sand, chocolate and orange combo and a yellow, turquoise and hot pink combo. Both had excellent color payoff and had smooth, even application. The Wet n Wild Coloicon shadows are always a great bet for quality budget eyeshadows. I like their powder eyeshadows better than brands like Maybelline and Revlon. I definitely recommend any of these trios, especially if you like color shadows.

During my weekly CVS bargain Sundays, I picked up the 'Walking on Eggshells' eyeshadow trio. It retails for $2.99. I think after my coupons and discounts I paid a $1.25 for it. I read something positive about this trio a while ago. I think it talked about how these shades are dupes for Urban Decay shadows. Surprisingly Wet n Wild Coloricon eyeshadows are some of the best I have ever used. They are soft, pigmented and blend really well. They don't look like cheap eyeshadows at all.
This weekend was my most expensive haul to date before coupons. My haul came to a little less than $200. With manufacturer coupons, store rewards, and store coupons my total came to $27. I also received $34 in Extra Bucks towards my next visit. I picked up a Physicians Formula Youthful Wear foundation ($14.99), a Garnier BB miracle eye cream ($13.99), and an Olay BB cream ( on clearance for $3.74). From L'Oreal I got a new Glossy Balm ($8.39), Nail polish ($5.99), and new Visible Lift Blur cream blush ($10.99) I was in a neutral shadow mood so I bought a Wet n Wild Coloricon shadow trio ($2.99) and a Maybelline eyeshadow quad in copper and brown tones. ($9.99) I bought the Sally Hansen Gel Manicure kit. It was $59.99. With coupons it was too great of a deal to pass up. I had a 25% off CVS coupon, a $20 off CVS coupon and a $5 MFC. The price was brought down to $20.
Overall it was a great CVS haul. I'm looking forward to trying my gel manicure kit, L'Oreal visible lift blush and new BB cream. I still can't believe that I only paid $25 for all of this stuff that had a retail value of $198.00. I'm already planning for next weeks haul! This week there are some fantastic sales at Rite Aid. Maybelline and Neutrogena cosmetics are 40% off. Revlon lip products are $6.99 each with $1 Up Reward bonus. Also if you spend $15 on Sally Hansen you get $5 Up Rewards for use on next purchase.
There are some great Video Value Coupons on Riteaid.com that apply to these sales. Plus you can use a manufacturer coupon with the Rite Aid coupon. At Rite Aid I picked up Neutrogena Healthy Skin makeup ($13.95), Revlon Colorstay Moisture Renew glosses ($9.99 each), Maybelline Deam Blush Bouncy ($8.29), Sally Hansen miracle nail thickener ($7.99), Maybelline BabyLips Crystal ($4.19), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polish ($3.19), Neutrogena Shine Control Powder ($14.99),Sally Hansen Triple Shine polish ($4.99), Sally Hansen Insta Dy Matte polish ($5.49), Fergie Wet n Wild Nail Polish ($3.49) and Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Polish ($7.99) Total retail cost of the items I bought was $94.50. After sale prices, store coupons, manufacturer coupons and store rewards I paid $20.17 for all the makeup below. I hit a major clearance Jackpot at the Rite Aid near my summer cottage. They recently redid the inside of the store. I'm assuming this was a reason for all the ridiculous clearance items. The first part of my haul is the Physicians Formula finds. The green eye and purple eyeliner boxes were not on clearance. They are $11.95 each. But with a BOGO Free sale and 2 $3 coupons the cost for $23.90 dollars worth of eyeliners was $5.95. I also used 2 $3 coupons again and got the brown and blue boxes of eyeliners for $5.95. So in total I spent $11.90 for $47.80 worth of eyeliners. I love Physicians Formula eyeliners! I bought these separately before the clearance haul and used a $10 Up Reward coupon so I really only paid $1.90 for 12 eyeliners. A Mineral Wear Talc-Free Primer was originally $12.97 and on clearance for $2.72. An Organic Wear mascara was originally $9.99 and was on clearance for $2.43. The mascara was in a BOGO free box so there were 2 mascaras in the box for $2.43. Cover Girl Clump Crusher and Lash Blast Luxe were originally $8.99 and were on sale for $2.24 each. I used 2 $1 off Cover Girl MFC so I paid $1.24 each. I was so surprised to find these Kiss Nails on clearance. I bought and reviewed a pair of the Gel Fantasy Ready to Wear nails the week before. These are the best ready to wear nails I have ever used. They are sturdy, natural looking, have beautiful designs and don't come off until you remove them with polish remover. They lasted for 6 days for me and then I had to take them off because I was having.nail painting withdrawal. These are normally $7.99 and were on clearance for $1.99 One of the newer NYC gloss crayons was on clearance for .74 cents. This Wet n Wild bronzer blush was originally $3.99 and was on clearance for .99. I have wanted to try the Wet n Wild Mega Glo bronzers for a while and I'm happy I found it for only .99 I found 2 Sinful Colors nail polishes for .49 each. (Regularly $1.99) One was a creamy dark yellow called 'Pull Over'. The other was a rich royal purple called 'Go Go Boots'
This was a good week to pick up Physicians Formula at CVS or Rite Aid. I picked up 2 at CVS and 2 at Rite Aid. Maybelline was also $2 off at Rite Aid. At CVS My total came to $84 and after manufacturer coupons, store coupons and store rewards my bill came to $14.46.
With all the new displays I found at Walgreens I had to contain myself and only pick up a few new things. I had to buy this. It is perfect for summer. It's a limited edition blush/Bronzer in the lightest shade called 'Hold me Close'. It has a slight shimmer to it. Retail price $3.99.
I scored big at CVS this week. I picked up a range of beauty products. They totaled $124. With manufacturer coupons, cvs coupons, Extra Bucks and a 30% off coupon, the total came to $11 and change. Part of my haul included a Garnier BB cream ($13.99), l'Oreal Manga mascara ($7.99), Sally Hansen Complete manicure ($3.99 on clearance), Cover Girl Eye trio ($3 on clearance), Rimmel Salon Pro ($2.99), Rimmel Extra Pro Mascara ($2 on clearance), L'Oreal Extroidinaire lip gloss ($9.99), and Wet n Wild 8 pan eyeshadow in Petal Pusher($4.99).
I did an early evening run to Rite Aid. I purchased a few skin, hair and makeup products. My total came to 40.98. With coupons and Rite Aid Up Rewards my final total came to .98 cents. (Sorry about the picture below. I didn't realize until after that the L'Oreal Advancd Care was upside down)
These colors are from the limited edition Street Wet Shine nail polish collection by Wet Wild. Wet n Wild is a great budget beauty brand. Before I really got into cosmetics, I used to think Wet n Wild was a teensy bopper low quality brand. I was very mistaken. Some of their eyeshadows, polishes and other cosmetics are better than 75% or more of drug store brands. I have 4 polishes from the collection. I swatched a bright red/coral one in a previous post. These polishes retail for .99 cents. If you live near a Harmon, they are .79 cents. Tomorrow is the last day of a sale at Walgreens where you can get Wet Shine nail polishes for .69 cents each.
Overall I'm not impressed at all with this collection. The colors had potential. Then combination of formula and how the color looked outside the bottle really turned me off. Im disappointed because I usually really like the Wet Shine Polishes. Out of all the polishes, I would probably wear the peachy coral color 'Temptation'. I will not be buying any more of the limited edition Street Art polishes.
I live down the street from a 24 hour Walgreens, a 24 hour CVS and Rite Aid. It's a wonderful thing and a terrible thing at the same time. If I run to get sinus medication it takes me 45 minutes. I can't help it. I have to check out the cosmetic aisle at the stores! So tonight I had to get my husband protein shakes at Walgreens. I did my beauty hunting there and bought 6 items for about $3.40. None of these items were more than .69 cents.
The next brand i purchased cosmetic from was E.LF. They are expanding what stores they are in. At Walgreens there used to only be E.lF. Products during Christmas. Now I see new things from E.l.f. In displays there. TheseE.l.f. Products below we're left over from Christmas.
I picked up 2 lip stains for .50 each. The pink one is pink petal and the red one is crimson crush. They really feel like you are using a magic marker. The color goes on smooth and pigmented. WARNING! These lip stains REALLY stain. I still have the swatch on my hand the next day after taking a shower and scrubbing. Im glad I didnt try these on my lips yet. I dont know if they will come off! The lip gloss by E.Lf is a clear gloss with iridescent glitter. Below is a swatch of the 3 lip products. All of the .99 cent Wet n Wild items I scanned rang up .69 cents. I was very excited! There is a brand new display at my Walgreens where all the items were $1.09 or less. I picked up a few new items from that display. For around $4 I bought 6 items. I bought the 2 new wet n wild brushes: a foundation and eye shadow brush. I like the bright brush colors. I picked up another cream glitter shadow in silver. I have the iridescent, pink and purple glitters. I like using these as a highlighting accent on the inner eye corners. I also got 3 Wet Shine polishes. 2 were from a limited edition collection. The bright blue (Here comes trouble) and the yellow (Get lucky) polish were limited edition polishes. I am stocking up on summer polishes when the price is right. I also got a black polish called Black Creme that I read is a 'go to' polish on different websites. For .69 I couldn't pass up trying it. I am very happy with my .69 cent purchases. I will definitely be digging through my purse for change this week. I will be measuring change by makeup 'woo! 15 more cents and I get another polish!' I stopped at Walgreens and found on the end of an aisle a bin of clearance cosmetics. There were a dozen or so Wet n Wild MegaLast polishes. I scanned them and they rang up for .99! I picked up 4 of them. 'Playing all Suits' is from the 'Pick your Poison' collection. It is a purple sheer base with pink, silver and sparse holographic glitter. I have is alone and over Key West by Milani. The next .99 cent color was called 'Sea Ya Soon'. It is a black base with teal shimmer. The pretty shimmer shows when it hits the light. I used 2 coats but it could easily be a one coater. This is from the Be a Runway Beauty Collection. 'I'm not Shrimpy' is a peachy shimmer. 2 coats give a nice coverage. This is also from the Be a Runway Beauty Collection. 'In Too Deep' is also from the Fall 2013 Be A Runway Beauty collection. It is a clear base with red and silver hex glitter with small silver glitter. Lots of Lux is from the Essie Holiday 2013 encrusted Treasures Collection. I found this at Rite Aid in their clearance bin for $4. It is a royal blue textured glitter polish. It can be a 1 or 2 coater. The texture is very even for a textured polish. Some are very, very gritty and even get stuck to threads on my jacket. This is not one of those polishes. I like the shimmer and final look of this polish. I would definitely pick another one up if I find a great deal on the other Encrusted Treasures. There is a section at one of the local Dollar Trees of Wet n Wild Beauty Benefits products. Foundation, eye shadow, nail polish and lip gloss from the Beauty Benefits line are all only $1 at Dollar Tree. I have visited a few Dollar Trees and have only found this line at one so it may or may not be available at your local Dollar Tree. I bought an eye shadow quad in Sand Castle (browns) and picked up this quad of blues called Fantasy Land. I love wearing color more than neutrals so I wanted to review this palette. Using a brush (There is no applicator included), I used the navy as an eyelid color. The navy has slight glitter throughout. I primed my lids with Fergie Shimmer Take on the Day Primer ($4.99) On a side note, this primer is one of my top 2 favorite primers. I adds a little bit of shimmer to any shadow you use. It keeps my eye shadow at 3 p.m. looking like it did at 6:30 a.m. I highly recommend either Fergie Primers (One with and one without shimmer)
The white was used as a brow highlighter color. The baby blue was used on the eyelid crease. The black is slightly glittery. I used it to highlight my eye lid crease. Each of these colors has excellent pigment and consistency. There was no powdery mess left on the palette or under my eyes. The colors compliment each other well. They were easy to blend and did not brush off when blending. I know some cheaper brands of eye shadow kind of blend away when I use my blending brush. Then I have to re-apply the shadow. This required no re-applying of anything. For $1 It is definitely worth going to Dollar Tree to see If they have any. There are quads in browns and black/greys. I will definitely use this as one of my go-to palettes when I am in the mood for blue shadows. Below is what the shadows look like on me. I used L'Oreal Infalliable "The Blackbuster" black felt eyeliner pencil and Maybelline "The Rocket" mascara in black. |
